長崎県全体のピックルボールの未来を共につくる、新たなステージへ
長崎ピース・ピックルボール協会（NPPA: Nagasaki Peace Pickleball Association）は、2026年9月9日に、団体名称を「長崎県ピックルボール連盟」（NPPF: Nagasaki Pref Pickleball Federation) へ変更いたします。
2024年4月9日の設立以来、NPPAが取り組んできたピックルボールの普及活動を次の段階へ発展させ、長崎県内のピックルボールを地域横断的に支え、各地域の活動をつなぐ県レベルの競技団体として、その役割と責任を明確にするための名称変更です。
設立以降、体験会、講習会、大会の開催などを通じて、ピックルボールを「知ってもらう」「体験してもらう」「継続して楽しんでもらう」ための活動を積み重ねてきました。その結果、長崎市だけではなく、県内各地域でピックルボールに取り組むチーム・サークル・クラブ・部活が生まれ、競技の裾野が広がってきました。
単に組織の名称や肩書きを整えることではなく、長崎県のピックルボールを責任を持って継続的に発展させる競技団体になるための取り組みです。今後は、県内各地域の自主性を尊重しながら、地域団体・クラブ・チームとの連携を強化し、次のような活動に取り組んでまいります。
長崎県内における生涯スポーツとしての普及促進
ジュニアからシニアまで幅広い世代への普及
大会、イベントの開催、および競技環境の整備
選手、指導者、審判員等の人材育成
行政、教育機関、地域スポーツ団体との連携
国内外のピックルボール競技団体との交流
ピックルボールジャパンとの連携
などを通じて、長崎県のピックルボール競技の発展に取り組んでまいります。そして、長崎県で育った選手や指導者が、全国、さらには世界へ挑戦できる環境づくりにも取り組んでまいります。
改名しても、NPPAがこれまで大切にしてきた、
「ピックルボールを通じて、人と人、地域と地域を繋ぎ、国境を越えての平和活動へ貢献」
という想いは変わりません。そのため、長崎ピース・ピックルボールという名称をニックネームとして残します。
「9月9日」に込めた想い
9月9日は、日本の五節句の一つである「重陽（ちょうよう）の節句」。「重陽」は、古くから長寿や繁栄を願う節目の日とされてきました。2024年4月9日に生まれたNPPAが、2026年9月9日に「長崎県ピックルボール連盟」として新たなステージへ進みます。

A New Chapter: Building the Future of Pickleball Across Nagasaki Prefecture
The Nagasaki Peace Pickleball Association (NPPA) will officially change its name to the Nagasaki Prefecture Pickleball Federation (NPPF) on September 9, 2026.
This change represents more than a new name. It marks the next stage in NPPA’s development and reflects our commitment to serving as a prefecture-wide governing body that supports pickleball across Nagasaki, connects local communities, and helps establish a stronger foundation for the sport’s continued growth.
Since its founding on April 9, 2024, NPPA has worked to introduce pickleball to more people through clinics, introductory sessions, tournaments, and other community activities. As a result, pickleball has continued to expand beyond Nagasaki City, with teams, clubs, community groups, and school programs emerging in communities throughout the prefecture.
Our goal is now to build on this progress and create a stronger, more connected pickleball community across Nagasaki.
This is not simply about changing an organizational name or title. It is about developing an organization that can take responsibility for the long-term growth of pickleball throughout Nagasaki Prefecture.
While respecting the independence and unique character of each local community, NPPF will strengthen collaboration with regional organizations, clubs, teams, and other stakeholders. Our activities will include:
Promoting pickleball as a lifelong sport throughout Nagasaki Prefecture
Expanding opportunities for people of all ages, from juniors to seniors
Organizing tournaments and events and improving the competitive environment
Developing players, coaches, officials, and other sports leaders
Collaborating with local governments, educational institutions, and community sports organizations
Building relationships with pickleball organizations in Japan and around the world
Strengthening collaboration with Pickleball Japan
Through these efforts, we will work to advance pickleball throughout Nagasaki Prefecture and create opportunities for players and coaches from Nagasaki to compete and grow at the national and international levels.
Although our name is changing, our founding mission remains the same:
“Connecting people and communities through pickleball and contributing to peace across borders.”
For this reason, we will retain Nagasaki Peace Pickleball as our nickname, preserving the spirit and identity that have guided us since our founding.
The Meaning Behind September 9
September 9 is Chōyō no Sekku, or the Chrysanthemum Festival, one of Japan’s five traditional seasonal festivals. It has long been regarded as a special occasion for praying for longevity and prosperity.
NPPA was founded on April 9, 2024. On September 9, 2026, we will carry that connection forward as we enter a new chapter as the Nagasaki Prefecture Pickleball Federation.
We sincerely thank everyone who has supported NPPA’s activities and helped pickleball grow in Nagasaki.
